Windhand are a 4-piece doom metal outift from Richmond, USA fronted by Dorthia Cottrell. At an epic 62 minutes in length, the band's fourth studio album, Eternal Retturn presents 9 tracks ranging fron 3 to 13 minutes in length. Dorthia's expressive vocal style delivers a mellow contrast to the heavey doom riffs and resonant guitar solos which together evoke a pleasent sense of relaxation. The only minor niggle is that some tracks, such as Eyeshine, are a bit repetative and feels a bit excessive at 11 of minutes. Track 1, Halcyon stands alone a sample for the flavour of the whole album.
